There’s a quiet kind of magic that happens when you’re standing in the dark and finally catch that first glimpse of illumination. That feeling is the heartbeat behind Traces of Light.

Living here on the island, I’m constantly surrounded by a beautiful balance of elements—soft, calming skies meeting rugged, grounded earth. I wanted these original acrylic pieces to capture that exact yin and yang. Every canvas begins with a gentle, ethereal energy, which is then counterbalanced by a heavy, textured charcoal-black base. But the real story is in the lines of authentic Italian gold leaf that cut through the darkness. Framed in stained maple hardwood, they add a striking, undeniable elegance that completely transforms the mood of the work.

More than just an aesthetic, this collection carries a deeply sentimental metaphor. Much like the personal stories I’ve explored my whole life as a songwriter, and the journey of finding my own Little Light Of Mine, this body of work is about resilience. It’s a reminder that even in the heaviest of places, there is always something golden just waiting to be found.

10% of all proceeds from this collection will go to the Island Nature Trust’s stewardship fund called “Mend A Patch”. May these artworks serve as reminders of the precious grounds we walk upon, the beauty that surrounds us all, and the responsibility we all have to care for it.
